On World AIDS Day, we are proud to share recent media coverage by Joanneum Research of our work on a portable, electricity-free diagnostic platform developed within the FORTIFIEDx consortium. The featured article reports on how our microfluidic patch can autonomously process a small drop of capillary blood—opening the door to reliable testing outside traditional laboratory settings.
The technology, produced using roll-to-roll UV nanoimprint lithography, is being validated for several high-impact infectious diseases, including HIV and syphilis. This innovation reflects the strong collaboration between our partners and underlines Europe’s leadership in scalable, next-generation medical diagnostics.
